Painting and decorating

I offer a full service relating to refurbishment, consisting of full burn off down to bare wood and repaint or just a rub down and touch up depending on requirement. Prices on application. Please call for a quote.

Tiling

Ceramic tiling, marble flooring, bathrooms, kitchens, edging, planning through to completion to ensure complete customer satisfaction. I pay great attention to detail and ensuring base for tiling is completely sound before tiling is commenced. If the surface needs plastering or is not sound in any way, this will be corrected before tiling is commenced.

Carpentry

I pay great attention to detail, ensuring every angle and surface, horizontal or vertical are straight and true, worktops and frames are firmly secured and permenant.

Plumbing

I only offer basic plumbing. I do not offer central heating installations. This needs to be undertaken by CORGI registered technicians.

Kitchen fitting

Removal of old kitchen, cupboards, sink unit etc. Installation of new units to customer’s specifications. Measuring, planning, help with design are just a few of my specialities.

Bathroom fitting

Removal of old suite, installation of new units, shower, bath, redesign etc

Oak flooring and laminate

Laminate or wooden floor, whichever one you decide to have, you can be assured that it will be a first class job. Skirting removal and replacement once floor is laid or a profile edging from floor to skirting. This is the most popular option, relating to cost and upheaval.

Roofing

Stripping of old tiles or slates, re-felt and batten, replacement of valleys and box gutters.

Guttering

Removal of old cast iron or plastic guttering, fascia board inspected for rotting or water penetration, replaced if necessary, primed, undercoated and finishing coat applied. Then new guttering installed.

Water butts installation

Owing to new goverment issues regarding water waste, I have installed water butts. The benefit of this is that rain water is used to water plants instead of tap water, making water usage more economical. It is better for the plants on the long term.

"This lady asked for a water butt to be installed. Then she called me back 2-3 weeks later, after there was an exceptional amount of rain for that month and said it was over flowing. I suggested installing a further one and connected it to the first. As you can see it from the photo, I installed a third one as well. Now she is exremelly happy to have extra water. "

Lighting

Old strip lighting removed, customer’s own lighting fitted, ceiling or walls redecorated to original standard. Dimmer switches, extra plugs where needed.

Gardening

I offer garden clearing, rubbish removal, tree cutting, re-surfacing, landscaping, patios, built-in barbecues, shed erecting, fencing and a complete garden redesign service.

Glass blocks

One of my recent additional specialities is erecting glass block walls, which has become very fashionable in modern designed houses and flats. Glass blocks can be installed anywhere in a home i.e. shower area, breakfast bar, kitchen, living room partitioning, hall etc.

Locks and grills

New locks fitted to front door, internal locks, window locks, security grills on windows and doors to ensure property is secured.

Sash window repairs

Re-weighting, re-cording and freeing up of painted in-windows, re-glazing and general window repair.

Glazing

Single glazing, double glazing of windows in flats and houses

Property maintenance

I offer a full property maintenance programme on rental properties or a complete refurbishment with a view to sell.

Insulation and sound proofing

Loft insulation with rock wool or granular polystyrene. Sound proofing consisting of cavity wall insulation or re-flooring to reduce sounds to property below.
